The weekend of 13 - 15 June 2008 was our cowboy and indian themed Group Camp.
22 Cubs, 19 Scouts, 7 Explorer Scouts and 10 adult Leaders camped for the whole weekend and 22 Beavers and 2 further Leaders visited on Saturday afternoon.
In advance of the camp each Section decorated a section of a totem pole - which we erected on camp. It looked fantastic!
During the weekend the Beavers and Cubs made indian headbands and painted their faces and the Scouts wore cowboy costumes. The Leaders were a very mean looking bunch of Sherriff's!
Activity bases included tracking, corn bread, rodeo (lassooing, tin can alley, horse shoe throwing), dream catchers, head bands, spitoon and water pistol showdown.
On Saturday the Explorer Scouts built a fort and on Sunday the rest of the group attacked it with water soaked sponges.
On Saturday evening there was an American style camp fire with songs, stunts and challenges.
Everyone really enjoyed the camp - thanks to all those who put effort into organising it.
