In 2001 when the first Explorer Scout section pages were brought online, this site was hosted by Lycos, the website counted towards the Duke of Edinburgh's Silver award for Daniel, one of the Explorer Scouts at the time.

In March 2003 www.4thgolcarscoutgroup.org.uk was registed and the first page went online on the 26th March 2003. 4th Golcar Scout Group Online was slowly been developed.
The site counted towards Daniel's Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award, as it expanded on the initial idea of a Explorer Scout website.

Over the years 4th Golcar Scout Group has grown its website, which now includes Photos of past events, articles from the group newsletter, Go Fourth, and each section has access to update the news sections of the pages, keeping you, the visitor, well informed of our recent events.

Now in 2005 the site is still growing, with plans to provide resources for other Scout Groups in the UK, and around the World.

PHPBB - The Forum software which is a key part in the site, this is used to provide Leaders with a simple and easy to use method of adding news to the website.
Contact Form 2.5 - This contact form script is used in a number of places through out the site, writen and developed by Jason Gillyon
