(The Directors Cut)
After months of work in producing the storyline, casting, filming, editing and ‘the technical bit at the end’ we were finally ready for the premiere of ‘The Legend of Robin Hood’ (The Directors Cut).
The film was shot in several different locations – Walesby Forest Scout Camp, Bradley Wood Scout Camp, Scammonden Activity Centre, Beaumont Park, Ben’s Barn, The Gatehouse at Oakes, Kirklees Priory and the Bridge in the Garden at Honley.
Costumes and props were made, in true Scouting fashion, from whatever we could find.
The actors went off a general storyline and improvised infront of the camera.
The final result – a fantastic 1 hour 45 minute long film that held the audiences attention and had them laughing out loud.
The Premiere Evening was a huge success. Everyone turned up in ‘black tie and posh frocks’ and walked up the red carpet to the balloon archway entrance.
Families took the opportunity to have their photographs taken by the professional photographer John Barry and over 40 orders were taken for the film on DVD.
In the interval there were refreshments, including ice cream and pop corn and the room was buzzing with comments about how well it was going.
At the end there was an oscar presentation to script-writer, camera man, director and editor Craig Ellis and the County Commissioner, Mr Neil Leatherland, congratulated the young people on their achievement.
We would like to thank everyone who turned up to support the event.
All proceeds went to our Kandersteg 2010 fund.
